ABOUT US....
As a student a Fleet-Wood Dancentre, your talent will not go unnoticed. Every December, the school's ballet students perform in the windows of Downtown Collingwood dressed in beautiful Nutcracker costumes. Every other year, the Centre launches a full-scale production of this popular holiday ballet. Graduates of Fleet-Wood's pre-professional program have gained admittance to professional dance schools and universities with acclaimed dance departments. The Fleet-Wood faculty specializes in the Cecchetti Method of of ballet, which provides the necessary training to prepare students for serious auditions. In addition to catering to those who live to dance, the centre offers recreational opportunities for adults and children in everything from jazz and tap to hip-hop and belly dancing. Sharron Fleet and Jane Wooding joined forces in 1994 to open the Dancentre. To date, more than 1,000 studdents have passed through their doors, trained by the owners themselves and other faculty members, who include several Fleet-Wood alumni. The studio is equipped with everything that budding professionals need to realize their potential, including sprung floors covered in Roscofloor, bars, mirrors and sound equipment.
