Dance Classes Collingwood Registration. Opening for the 28th Season, Fleet-Wood Dancentre offers classes in three streams. Recreation, Pre-professional, and Competition.
For dancers taking their first dance classes, the Recreation Stream is a perfect choice. Dance once a week or more! in ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, or acro. Beginner to experienced is welcomed! Starting at age two, little ones enjoy lots of props and toys to help them learn how to jump, march, run, twirl, creep and explore their innate creativity, the core of dance expression. These gross motor movements are refined as they turn, 3 and 4 with the introduction of ballet and jazz foot and arm patterns and positions. Galloping emerges followed by skipping, and before you know it they are ready for a more formal class by the age of five. It’s never to late to start dance classes for those who just have to move to music, including mom or dad!
Dance Classes for the Pre-Professional student prepare the dancer for post-secondary training at College or University Level. Registration includes a choice of classes with Cecchetti Ballet as the technical core. Additionally, students receive training in jazz, modern, tap, contemporary, hip hop, and more! Dancers are invited into this Stream of Training, with Cecchetti Ballet classes two to three times a week. Students may qualify for Exams at the end of the year. A yearly trip to Canada’s National Ballet School for “Cecchetti Day” is something quite special. You can learn more about the Cecchetti Society at https://cecchetticanada.com
Competition classes give dancers the opportunity to enjoy the magic of the stage! They can choose from group classes to solos!! Our teachers can offer competition training in ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap, hip hop, modern, and musical theatre.
